Every day the wonderful happens…

and I'm here to blog about it.

Because You Know You Have Time to Read It June 10, 2011

Filed under: shameless plugs — Elizabeth @ 3:12 PM

Okay, don’t laugh at me.  I started another blog.

Okay, fine, you can laugh.

This blog will still be here junking up your Google Reader, so don’t worry your pretty little head about that.  It’s just that I really wanted to journal somewhere about how we are dealing with Isaac’s allergies and the new recipes we are trying and the food challenges we are attempting, and I don’t want to turn our family blog into the “Isaac’s got allergies” show.

I mean, haven’t you always wanted to know how to fry chickpeas and if they are good and what almond butter tastes like and if people who are allergic to peanuts can eat it?  And what about that boxed egg replacement stuff they sell at the store?  What’s that about?  Well, I’m glad you asked because I will be happy to tell you….as soon as I try it in a recipe.  But for now, the box alone is creeping me out.

Anyway, come one over and visit me as I go on and on about These Crazy Kids Today and Their Newfangled Allergies.  You know you already read about 100 blogs…..what’s one more?

the egg replacer isn’t bad. Works better than no eggs, I found.

Great idea about your second blog. Looking forward to your journey.

there are a lot of things you can use besides eggs or egg replacer. in baking for instance, you can use applesauce. you can use tofu. and there are more too xx i have not used egg replacer at all and things are just fine without it!

I’ll definitely be following along…I can add it to the list of reasons I am too busy to actually return to writing my own blog 🙂

I’ll be checking it out — we are a family with a tree nut allergy and that is a game changer — among other things I am now restricted to purses into which an Epi-pen fits comfortably.

you go, momma! love that you are heading into this with lots of energy and enthusiasm and of course, humor 😉

They haven’t changed that box for, um, a year or two, have they? But really, why mess with perfect?

I’ll be reading this new blog for sure. Although we don’t have any food allergies (that I know of), I am always interested in alternative diets and different food replacements. I enjoy experimenting with vegan baking and am currently avoiding dairy for my seemingly intolerant breastfed baby. I love my subscription to Vegetarian Times even though we’re not strictly vegetarians. I just find that a lot of vegetarian recipes are really creative and delicious.

It will be a great outlet for you and a great way to connect with others doing the same thing. I (heart) blogs.
